Consumers whose biometric data Viakable Manufacturing LLC or its biometric technology possessed, captured, collected, stored, used, transmitted or disseminated between June 19, 2019, and Oct. 14, 2025, may be eligible to claim up to $460.38 from a class action settlement.

Viakable Manufacturing LLC agreed to pay $417,750 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging violations of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act. The lawsuit claimed the company collected, stored or used biometric identifiers and information without proper consent or a compliant written policy as required by Illinois law.

Who can file a claim?

The settlement class includes anyone whose biometric data Viakable Manufacturing LLC or its biometric technology possessed, captured, collected, stored, used, transmitted or disseminated during the specified period between June 19, 2019, and Oct. 14, 2025. This includes both employees and nonemployees.

If individuals received a notice about the settlement, Viakable identified them as potential class members.

How much can class members receive?

Each class member who submits a valid claim form by the deadline may receive a payment of up to $460.38. The exact amount will depend on the number of valid claims and deductions for attorneys’ fees and costs, settlement administration costs and the class representative’s incentive award.

How to claim a class action rebate

Class members can file the online claim form or by download the PDF claim form, print it, complete it and mail or email it to the settlement administrator. The clam deadline is Dec. 13, 2025.

Required proof

  • All class members must provide the dates they worked with Viakable Manufacturing.
  • To file an online claim, class members must provide the claim number and PIN from the settlement notice they received.

Payout options

The settlement administrator will mail paper checks to the address class members provide on the claim form. Checks will expire and become void 90 days after issuance.

The $417,750 settlement fund includes:

  • Settlement administration costs: To be determined
  • Attorneys' fees and expenses: Up to $144,320
  • Service award to class representative: Up to $5,000
  • Payments to eligible class members: Remainder of the fund

When is the Rocio Salinas v. Viakable Manufacturing payout date?

The settlement administrator will mail checks after the court order becomes final, which should occur within approximately 45 days after final approval. Payment may be delayed if there are appeals.

Why did this class action settlement happen?

The class action lawsuit alleged that Viakable Manufacturing LLC violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act by collecting, capturing or storing biometric identifiers and information without proper consent or a compliant written policy.
