
Individuals who received an artificial or prerecorded voice call on their cell phone from Maximus Education, doing business as Aidvantage, and were not an Aidvantage customer, may qualify to claim an estimated $500 to $1,000 from a class action settlement. The settlement class includes approximately 32,188 unique cellular numbers.
Maximus Education LLC, operating as Aidvantage, has agreed to pay $3 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it placed artificial or prerecorded voice calls to certain cell phone numbers without prior express consent, in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
Who can file a claim for a TCPA settlement payout?
Class members must meet the following criteria:
- They reside in the United States and received a call on a cell phone placed by or on behalf of Maximus Education, dba Aidvantage.
- The call was placed between Feb. 12, 2021 and Sept. 26, 2025 and was made using an artificial or prerecorded voice.
- The cell number called was not assigned to a current or former Aidvantage customer or accountholder.
How much are settlement payments?
Cash payment: Class members can submit a claim to receive a pro rata cash payment from the net settlement fund, estimated between $500 and $1,000. The final payment amount will be determined by the total number of claims filed.
How to claim a class action rebate
To claim a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or complete the paper claim form included with their notice and mail it to the settlement administrator.

- If a settlement notice was not received, proof that an artificial or prerecorded call occurred during the qualifying period must be provided to the settlement administrator in order to receive a claim form.

When is the Aidvantage TCPA settlement payout date?
Payments will be issued to approved claimants approximately 60 days after the court grants final approval of the settlement.
Why was there a class action settlement?
The class action lawsuit alleged that Aidvantage violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by placing artificial or prerecorded voice calls to cell phones of non-customers without prior express consent. Aidvantage denies the allegations, however agreed to settle to avoid the risk and expense of continued litigation.
