Why was there a class action lawsuit and settlement?

This lawsuit was filed because a former ADT Technician alleged that ADT did not fully compensate Technicians for all time worked, including overtime pay. The case was brought as a collective action under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

ADT denied any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the costs and risks of continued litigation. The settlement was approved by the Circuit Court of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in Palm Beach County, Florida.
