Consumes who received notice from Absolute Dental Group LLC that a 2025 data breach may have affected their personal information could be eligible to claim up to $5,000 plus a pro rata cash payment from a class action settlement.
Absolute Dental Group LLC agreed to pay $3.3 million to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to implement and maintain adequate data security policies and procedures, resulting in a data incident that occurred between Feb. 19, 2025, and March 5, 2025.
Who can file a claim?
Individuals must meet the following criteria to participate in the settlement:
- They are living, natural persons residing in the United States.
- The Absolute Dental data incident that occurred between Feb. 19, 2025, and March 5, 2025, potentially impacted their personal information.
- They received notice from Absolute Dental Group LLC regarding the data incident.
How much can class members receive?
Class members can claim one or both of the following awards, depending on their circumstances:
- Documented loss payment: Up to $5,000 for documented, unreimbursed losses the data incident most likely caused. Eligible losses include:
- Bank fees
- Long-distance phone charges
- Cell phone charges (if charged by the minute)
- Data charges (if charged by data used)
- Postage
- Gasoline for local travel
- Fees for credit reports, credit monitoring or identity theft insurance products
- Other losses resulting from the data incident
- Pro rata cash fund payment: A cash payment distributed equally among all valid claimants. The settlement administrator will determine the exact amount by dividing the remaining settlement fund (after other expenses and payments) by the number of valid claims.
- California residents may receive up to two times the pro rata cash payment if Absolute Dental's records show they lived in the state at the time of the data incident.
If the number of claims exceeds the available funds, the settlement administrator will apply pro rata reductions to ensure it can pay all valid claims.

Class members can file a claim online or download, print and complete the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is June 18, 2026.

Why did this class action settlement happen?
The class action lawsuit alleged a cybercriminal gained unauthorized access to Absolute Dental Group LLC's data between Feb. 19, 2025, and March 5, 2025, potentially exposing personal information. The plaintiffs claimed the company failed to implement adequate data security measures.
