What Happened?
On Jan. 31, 2025, well Companies detected unusual activity on its network. An investigation took place and revealed that an an unauthorized actor may have accessed sensitive files on March 28, 2025.
On Nov. 12, 2025, WEL Companies determined that personal information belonging to more than 122,000 individuals in the United States, including 515 residents in Maine and 592 in New Hampshire.
The ransomware group RansomHub claimed responsibility for the attack, stating they had obtained 189 GB of company data and threatening to publish it on the dark web.

- Driver’s license or government-issued ID numbers
The breach was reported to the Maine and New Hampshire Attorneys General on Nov. 19, 2025. Written notices were sent to affected consumers on Nov. 18, 2025.
