Sapp Bros. Inc is a privately held company based in Omaha, Nebraska, founded in 1971. The company operates a network of full-service travel centers along major interstate routes, primarily Interstate 80.

In addition to its travel centers, Sapp Bros. is a wholesaler and distributor of petroleum products such as refined fuels, propane, diesel exhaust fluid, and other energy solutions.

What Happened?

On Aug. 25, 2025, an unauthorized attacker accessed information on the Sapp Bros. network. A manual and programmatic review by cybersecurity experts confirmed on Nov. 10, 2025, that personally identifiable information (PII) was involved.

Information Exposed:

  • Social Security numbers
  • Demographic information
  • Driver's license numbers
  • Full names

According to the disclosure filed with the Iowa Attorney General on Dec. 11, 2025, the breach affected approximately 16,292 individuals, including 1,741 Iowa residents.

The breach was also discussed on the dark web. On Sept. 23, 2025, a group known as Worldleaks claimed responsibility for leaking Sapp Bros. Inc data on the Tor network.
