What Happened?
On Jan. 26, 2025, Laurel Eye Clinic discovered suspicious activity within its computer systems. The company disconnected network access and hired a specialized cybersecurity firm to investigate.
By March 6, 2025, the investigation revealed that certain files were accessed and obtained by an unauthorized user.
A comprehensive review of the impacted data was completed on Oct. 30, 2025, and the list of affected individuals was finalized by April 15, 2026, and notification letters were mailed to affected individuals starting on April 22, 2026.
The breach exposed sensitive information belonging to 42,295 people in the United States, including residents of Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
