What Happened?

On or around Aug. 23, 2025, Extant Aerospace detected ransomware activity affecting part of its network.

The company acted to contain the incident. After a thorough investigation, Extant Aerospace determined that an unauthorized actor accessed certain systems and may have acquired personal information belonging to some current and former employees, as well as other individuals.

On April 13, 2026, Extant Aerospace confirmed that specific individuals’ information was impacted.

  • Social Security numbers

In total, 3,012 people in the United States were affected, including five in Maine. Written notices were sent to affected individuals on May 13, 2026.
