The October 2024 Data Breach
On Oct. 21, 2024, Community Connections discovered suspicious activity on its computer systems. An investigation revealed that a cybercriminal may have accessed both personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI).
The data breach impacted a reported 20,876 people in the United States, including two Maine residents. Community Connections posted a Notice of Data Security Incident on its website and began notifying affected individuals on Aug. 28, 2025.
