About CareTracker

CareTracker Inc. computer software company that provides cloud-based practice management and electronic health record (EHR) solutions for physician practices and healthcare providers. Founded in 1998, CareTracker is now an operating division of Harris Computer Systems, which is part of Constellation Software Inc.

What happened?

On Aug. 18, 2025, CareTracker Inc. disclosed a data breach to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The incident involved the exposure of sensitive information belonging to patients or clients of CareTracker’s healthcare software. The total number of impacted practices and patients has not been released, but is believed to be in the thousands or more.

The cybersecurity incident both personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI).
