What Happened?
On or about March 5, 2026, Alaska Air Group Federal Credit Union’s third-party information technology service provider experienced a cybersecurity incident. This incident allowed unauthorized actors to use the provider’s system to access AAGCU’s IT systems. After discovering the breach on March 9, 2026, AAGCU immediately launched an investigation with cybersecurity experts and secured its IT environment.
The investigation revealed that unauthorized actors may have accessed and copied certain files from AAGCU systems. These files contained sensitive personal information belonging to members. Written notification to affected individuals began April 16, 2026.
A total of 10,705 people in the United States were affected, including eight in Maine.

- Social Security numbers
- Account numbers
- Dates of birth
- Driver’s license numbers
- Passport numbers
- Routing numbers
- Tax identification numbers
