Verber Dental Group PC, a dentist-owned dental network headquartered in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, disclosed a data breach that occurred in January 2026.

On Jan. 27, 2026, Verber Dental was alerted to unusual activity within its network. The company took measures to secure its environment and launched an investigation with the help of cybersecurity experts.

The investigation revealed that certain data may have been accessed or acquired without authorization between Jan. 26, 2026, and Jan. 27, 2026. To better understand the scope of the incident, Verber Dental engaged a third party to conduct a comprehensive review of all potentially affected files.

The types of information compromised included both personally identifiable information and protected health information such as names, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state identification numbers, dates of birth, medical records, and health insurance information.

The breach was reported to the New Hampshire Attorney General on May 8, 2026. Verber Dental additionally posted a notice of the incident on its website and began notifying affected individuals on May 7, 2026.

Verber Dental's response to the breach

Verber Dental is offering 12 months of complimentary credit and identity protection services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company. These services include single-bureau credit monitoring, a credit report and a credit score.

Affected individuals can enroll in these free services by visiting the Cyberscout activation page and entering the unique code included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed within 90 days of the date of the letter.

The company has also established a dedicated toll-free call center specifically for questions about this incident. Representatives who have been fully briefed on the situation are available at 1-833-289-3692, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, excluding holidays.

Steps to take if your information was exposed

  • Place a fraud alert or security freeze on credit files. Because Social Security numbers were potentially exposed, contacting Equifax (1-800-525-6285), Experian (1-888-397-3742) or TransUnion (1-833-799-5355) to place a fraud alert or freeze can help prevent unauthorized accounts from being opened.
  • Request free credit reports. Individuals can review their credit reports for unfamiliar accounts or inquiries by visiting AnnualCreditReport.com or calling 1-877-322-8228.
  • Monitor financial accounts and statements closely. With Social Security numbers and driver's license numbers at risk, individuals should watch for any suspicious activity on bank accounts, credit cards and other financial accounts.
  • Be cautious of phishing attempts. Scammers may send emails, texts or phone calls that reference Verber Dental or this breach by name in an attempt to steal additional personal information.
  • Report suspicious activity promptly. Anyone who detects signs of identity theft or fraud should report it to local law enforcement, their state attorney general or the Federal Trade Commission, which accepts reports online at IdentityTheft.gov.
