TransGlobal Insurance Agency Inc., an independent property and casualty insurance agency headquartered in Monrovia, California, disclosed a data breach resulting from a cyberattack that occurred in February 2026. The total number of individuals affected across the United States has not been publicly disclosed.

TransGlobal discovered the breach on Feb. 24, 2026.

TransGlobal Insurance Agency experienced a cyberattack that resulted in personal information being accessed or acquired without authorization. The company's investigation determined that the incident occurred on or around Feb. 18, 2026.

TransGlobal involved one or more unauthorized actor(s) who gained access to personal data stored on the company's systems.

The types of personal information that may have been exposed in the breach included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers and dates of birth.

The breach was reported to the California Attorney General on April 29, 2026.

TransGlobal Insurance Agency's response to the breach

TransGlobal is offering affected individuals several protective services at no cost. These services include 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring, along with identity monitoring, fraud consultation and identity theft restoration services.

To activate these free services or to ask questions about the breach, affected individuals can call TransGlobal's dedicated assistance line at 888-524-8816, available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. PT.

Steps to take if your information was exposed

  • Place a fraud alert or credit freeze with Equifax (1-800-685-1111), Experian (1-888-397-3742) and TransUnion (1-800-916-8800) to help prevent unauthorized accounts from being opened using stolen personal information.
  • Request free credit reports at AnnualCreditReport.com and review them carefully for unfamiliar accounts, unexpected credit inquiries or changes to personal details.
  • Monitor bank accounts, credit cards and financial statements closely for unauthorized charges or withdrawals, keeping in mind that identity thieves sometimes hold stolen information for weeks or months before attempting to use it.
  • Watch for phishing attempts that reference TransGlobal Insurance Agency or this data breach by name, as scammers may try to exploit the situation through fake emails or phone calls impersonating the company.
  • Report suspected identity theft or fraud to the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-438-4338 or at IdentityTheft.gov, and file a report with local law enforcement if fraudulent activity is detected.
