Titan Roofing Inc., a commercial roofing company based in Springfield, Massachusetts, disclosed a data breach that may have compromised sensitive personal information. The company reported that 17 Massachusetts residents were affected, along with individuals in several other states, though a total number of affected individuals nationwide was not disclosed.

The breach was disclosed to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, the New Hampshire Attorney General, and the Vermont Attorney General starting on March 20, 2026.

Titan discovered the breach on Oct. 31, 2025, and began notifying affected individuals on March 20, 2026.

What happened in the Titan Roofing data breach

On or about Oct. 24, 2025, an unauthorized actor gained access to certain Titan computer systems. The company became aware of the intrusion about a week later, on Oct. 31, 2025, when it discovered that files on its systems had been encrypted by ransomware.

Upon discovery, Titan launched an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The company also took its environment offline to contain the threat. The investigation reviewed the information stored on the affected systems to identify what data was involved and which individuals were impacted. This review process was completed on Feb. 10, 2026.

The types of information that may have been exposed include names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers and financial account information.

Titan Roofing's response to the breach

Given the highly sensitive nature of the information involved, Titan is offering 24 months of free credit monitoring and identity restoration services through Experian IdentityWorks at no cost to affected individuals.

The service includes credit monitoring of the individual's Experian credit file, identity restoration support from specialists and $1 million in identity theft insurance. The membership also includes Experian IdentityWorks ExtendCare, which provides continued identity restoration assistance even after the 24-month membership period expires.

Affected individuals must enroll in the credit monitoring service by June 30, 2026, using the activation code included in their notification letter. Enrollment is available online at www.experianidworks.com/1Bcredit. A credit card is not required to enroll.

The company has set up a dedicated toll-free call center at 1-833-918-6825 to answer questions from affected individuals. The call center is available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central Time, excluding major U.S. holidays.

Steps to take if your information was exposed

  • Place a credit freeze with all three credit bureaus by contacting Equifax (1-888-298-0045), Experian (1-888-397-3742) and TransUnion (1-833-799-5355) to help prevent new accounts from being opened using stolen information.
  • Request free credit reports at AnnualCreditReport.com and review them carefully for any unfamiliar accounts, inquiries or suspicious activity.
  • Set up a fraud alert by contacting any one of the three major credit bureaus, which will then notify the other two.
  • Monitor bank and financial account statements closely over the next 12 to 24 months for unauthorized transactions, since financial account information was among the data potentially compromised.
  • Be cautious of phishing attempts that reference Titan Roofing or this data breach by name, as scammers sometimes use real breach notifications to trick people into sharing additional personal information.
  • Report suspected identity theft to the Federal Trade Commission at IdentityTheft.gov or by calling 1-877-438-4338, and to local law enforcement.
