







R3 Government Solutions, a management consulting firm specializing in HR services for government clients, experienced a data breach. On Sept. 21, 2025, the firm detected suspicious activity within its internal network. An investigation revealed that HR personnel documents may have been accessed during the breach.
A review determined that the cybersecurity incident compromised personally identifiable information (PII). Exposed information included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver's license or passport numbers and direct deposit information.
R3 began notifying affected individuals by mail on Oct. 17, 2025. The total number of people involved in the cybersecurity incident has not been released, but includes current and former employees.
The data breach was also disclosed to the Maine Attorney General's office on Oct. 17, 2025.
In response to the incident, R3 Government Solutions took steps to secure its systems, which included changing passwords, implementing additional technical controls, and tightening endpoint monitoring across its network. The company is also offering affected individuals 12 free months of TransUnion Cyberscout single-bureau credit monitoring services.
