Princeton Family Eye Care Data Breach Exposes PHI and PII

Princeton Family Eye Care, an optometry practice located at 701 West Princeton Drive in Princeton, Texas, recently disclosed a data breach. The breach has so far affected 933 Texas residents.

The breach was reported to the Texas Attorney General on Aug. 10, 2026. The company has since posted a notice about the breach on its website and has begun notifying affected individuals.

Princeton Family Eye Care first detected suspicious activity in its email environment on May 4, 2026. A forensic investigation completed in June 2026 confirmed that an unauthorized third party had gained access to one of the company's email accounts.

The compromised email account contained both emails and attached files with a range of sensitive data.

The personally identifiable information potentially exposed included names, dates of birth, contact information such as mailing addresses, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers and other government-issued identification numbers such as passport numbers or state identification card numbers.

Protected health information was also potentially exposed, including treatment details, health insurance records and medical record numbers.

Princeton Family Eye Care's response to the breach

Princeton Family Eye Care has set up a dedicated toll-free call center to assist individuals who have questions about the breach or need additional guidance. According to its notification, representatives are available at 888-650-3654, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET, excluding U.S. holidays.
