ABC Supply Data Breach exposes Social Security Numbers

ABC Supply Co. Inc., a North American wholesale distributor of roofing and building materials, disclosed a data breach that may have exposed sensitive personal information. The total number of people affected across the country was not disclosed, although 43 Massachusetts residents identified as affected.

The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on Aug. 7, 2026. The company began mailing notification letters to affected individuals on Aug. 7, 2026.

ABC Supply experienced a cybersecurity incident that may have resulted in the unauthorized access to or acquisition of personal information.

The types of personal information that may have been exposed include Social Security numbers and driver's license numbers.

ABC Supply's response to the breach

The company is offering identity protection services to help affected individuals monitor for and respond to potential misuse of their personal data. ABC Supply is providing two years of complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection through IDX.

Affected individuals can enroll by calling 1-833-788-9712, visiting the IDX enrollment page or scanning the QR code included in their notification letter. Each letter contains a unique enrollment code that is required to activate services. The deadline to enroll is Nov. 7, 2026.

IDX representatives are available to answer questions and assist with enrollment Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern Time, excluding holidays.
