
Consumers who had a Facebook account and digital subscription to Themis Bar Review and watched videos on Themis’s website between March 12, 2022, and Aug. 22, 2024, may be eligible to claim between $263 and $526 from a class action settlement.
Themis Bar Review LLC agreed to pay $2.25 million to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging it disclosed subscribers’ personally identifiable information to Facebook through the Facebook tracking pixel without consent in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act.
Who can file a claim?
Individuals must meet all of the following criteria:
- They resided in the United States at any time from March 12, 2022, through Aug. 22, 2024.
- They had or have a Facebook account.
- They had a digital subscription to Themis Bar Review.
- They viewed videos on Themis’s website while their Facebook account was active.
This includes both current and former subscribers who meet these requirements.
How much can class members get?
Each eligible class member who submits a valid claim will receive an equal share of the $2.25 million settlement fund after deductions for attorneys’ fees, administrative costs and the service award to the class representative.
The estimated payout per person is between $263 and $526, but the final amount payment amount depends on the number of valid claims submitted.
How to claim a settlement payment
Class members can complete the online claim form or download, print and fill out the PDF claim form then mail it to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is Feb. 6, 2026.

What proof or documentation is required to submit a claim?
- To file an online claim, class members must provide the unique ID and PIN located on the settlement notice they received by email. Those who did not receive a unique ID and PIN should complete the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator.
- All claimants must provide proof of their Facebook account by:
- Entering their Facebook profile URL on the claim form OR
- Including a screenshot of their Facebook profile with their claim submission

$2.25 million settlement fund breakdown
The $2,250,000 settlement fund includes:

- Attorneys’ fees costs and expenses: Up to $787,500

When is the Themis Bar Review VPPA settlement payout date?
The settlement administrator will distribute payments approximately 100 days after the court resolves any appeals and grants final approval to the settlement.
Why is there a class action settlement?
The class action lawsuit alleged Themis Bar Review LLC violated the Video Privacy Protection Act by sharing subscribers’ personally identifiable information with Facebook via the Facebook tracking pixel without obtaining consent. The VPPA defines PII as information that identifies a person as having requested or obtained specific video materials or services from a video tape service provider.
Themis Bar Review LLC denied any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the uncertainty and expense of continued litigation.
