Individuals who accessed or used the Simplilearn platform in the United States between Feb. 26, 2023, and Sept. 16, 2026, may be eligible to submit a claim for a cash payment from a class action settlement.
Simplilearn Americas Inc. agreed to pay $3 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it disclosed users’ personally identifiable information to third parties without consent in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act.
Who can file a claim?
Class members are individuals who accessed or used the Simplilearn platform in the United States between Feb. 26, 2023, and Sept. 16, 2026, regardless of whether they registered for or created an account, subscribed, made a purchase, logged in or viewed any video.
- The Simplilearn platform includes the Simplilearn iOS and Android mobile apps, the Simplilearn website, including dashboards, and any Simplilearn learning portals.
- Accessed or used includes visiting, browsing, viewing or otherwise interacting with any part of the Simplilearn platform.
How much are settlement payments?
Pro rata cash payment: Class members can submit a claim to receive a pro rata cash payment from the net settlement fund. The settlement administrator will determine the final payment amount by the total number of valid claims submitted.
How to claim a class action rebate
To receive a settlement payment, class members can file a claim online or print and complete the PDF claim form, and mail it to the settlement administrator.

Settlement fund breakdown
The $3,000,000 settlement fund will include
- Settlement administration costs: To be determined
- Attorneys' fees: Up to $1,200,000 plus reasonable expenses

- Payments to eligible claimants: Remaining settlement funds

When is the Simplilearn privacy settlement payout date?
The settlement administrator will issue payments to approved claimants within 90 days of the final approval date.
