Workers employed by Returns ‘R’ Us Inc. dba Pharma Logistics Ltd. in Illinois who were required to scan their finger or another body part for timekeeping purposes between Dec. 24, 2018, and June 5, 2025, may qualify to claim a pro rata cash payment from a class action settlement.

Returns ‘R’ Us Inc. dba Pharma Logistics Ltd. agreed to pay up to $75,000 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging the company required employees to provide biometric identifiers for timekeeping without first providing the legally required written disclosures and obtaining written consent. The plaintiffs claim this violates the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.

Who can file a Returns 'R' Us claim?

Class members must meet the following criteria:

  • They were employed by Returns ‘R’ Us Inc. dba Pharma Logistics Ltd. in Illinois at any time between Dec. 24, 2018, and June 5, 2025.
  • They used a finger-scan timekeeping device during their employment.
  • They did not previously sign a BIPA-compliant consent or waiver.

How much can class members receive?

The amount each class member can receive depends on the total number of valid claims submitted. The settlement fund is structured as follows:

  • If 20 or fewer claims are submitted: The fund is $15,000 divided equally among claimants
  • If 21-29 claims are submitted: Each claimant receives $735.30.
  • If 30 or more claims are submitted: The fund increases to $75,000. After deducting up to $10,000 for administration costs, $33,320 for attorneys’ fees and $5,000 each for the two class representatives, the remaining amount is divided equally among all claimants.

How to claim a class action payment

Class members can fill out and submit the online claim form or download, print and complete the PDF claim form (Page 35 of the settlement agreement and release) and submit it to the settlement administrator. Eligible class members must submit a claim form by Sept. 2, 2025.

To submit an online claim, class members must provide the claimant ID from their settlement notice and their last name.

The up to $75,000 settlement fund covers:

  • Payments to eligible class members: The remainder of the fund after deductions

Payments will be issued approximately 60 days after the court grants final approval and any appeals are resolved.
