Individuals who received a notice stating the March 2024 or September 2024 Numotion data incidents may have impacted their private information or personal health information could be eligible to submit a claim for up to $15,000 and other benefits from a class action settlement.
United Seating and Mobility LLC, doing business as Numotion, agreed to pay $4 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it failed to adequately protect private information and personal health information during two separate data incidents in 2024.
Who can file a claim?
Class members are living persons in the United States who received notice of the Numotion data incidents that occurred in March 2024 or September 2024.
Additional Information
The settlement includes two categories of class members:
- Settlement class members: Individuals who received notice of either data incident
- Social Security settlement class members: Settlement class members whose Social Security numbers may have been involved in the data incidents
How much is the class action settlement payment?
Class members have the following options:
- Cash Payment A – Documented out-of-pocket losses: Class members may claim up to $15,000 for actual, documented out-of-pocket losses that are fairly traceable to the March 2024 or September 2024 data incidents. They must provide reasonable third-party documentation showing the losses most likely resulted from the data incidents. Self-prepared documents alone are not sufficient.
- Cash Payment B – Pro rata cash payment: Class members may also submit a claim to receive a pro rata cash payment from the net settlement fund. The settlement administrator will determine the final payment amount based on the number of valid claims filed and the funds remaining after settlement expenses.
- Credit monitoring services: All class members will automatically receive two years of CyEx Identity Defense Plus credit monitoring. No claim is required to receive this benefit.
- Medical monitoring services: Social Security settlement class members may submit a claim to receive two years of CyEx Medical Shield Pro medical monitoring. Claimants must attest that they received a notice stating their Social Security number may have been involved and provide an email address.
If valid claims exceed available funds, the settlement administrator will reduce cash payments on a pro rata basis.

Why did this class action settlement happen?
The class action lawsuit alleged that Numotion experienced two data incidents in 2024. In the March 2024 incident, an unauthorized individual accessed certain systems that may have included the private information of former and current customers and employees. In the September 2024 incident, a phishing attack allowed unauthorized access to certain user accounts, which may have impacted personal health information.
Numotion denies the allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the expense, risk and uncertainty of continued litigation.
