Why did this class action settlement happen?
This class action lawsuit was filed after cybercriminals exploited a vulnerability in the MOVEit file transfer software used by Nuance Communications, potentially exposing personal information. Plaintiffs claimed that Nuance was negligent in its data security practices.
Nuance denies all allegations but agreed to settle to avoid the expense and uncertainty of continued litigation.
