Hourly paid or nonexempt employees who worked for Live Nation Worldwide Inc. or HOB Entertainment LLC in California between Sept. 16, 2020, and July 11, 2025, may be eligible to claim a cash payment from a class action settlement.
Live Nation Worldwide agreed to pay $2,400,000 to resolve a class action lawsuit alleging violations of California wage-and-hour laws, including claims of unpaid wages, missed breaks, inaccurate wage statements and other labor code violations. The settlement also includes penalties under the California Private Attorneys General Act for certain employees.
Who are the class members?
Class members are all current and former hourly paid or nonexempt employees who worked for Live Nation Worldwide or HOB Entertainment in California at any time between Sept. 16, 2020, and July 11, 2025. A subset of these employees, referred to as aggrieved employees, includes all hourly paid or nonexempt employees who worked for Live Nation Worldwide or HOB Entertainment during the PAGA period, which is Oct. 24, 2022, to July 11, 2025.
The settlement administrator will use company records to determine the number of workweeks and pay periods each class member worked during the relevant periods. These figures will directly impact the amount each person receives.
Class members who worked during both periods may be eligible for both types of payment.
How much are settlement payouts?
The total settlement fund is $2,400,000. The amount each class member receives depends on the number of weeks they worked during the class period and, if eligible, the number of pay periods they worked during the PAGA period. There are two main parts to the settlement:
- Class settlement: Pays individual class payments to eligible class members based on the number of workweeks worked during the class period
- PAGA settlement: Pays individual PAGA payments to aggrieved employees based on pay periods worked during the PAGA period and penalties to the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency
How does the settlement administrator calculate payments?
- The settlement administrator will divide the net settlement fund (after deductions for attorneys' fees and costs, service awards, administration costs and PAGA penalties) among participating class members based on the number of weeks they worked during the class period.
- The PAGA portion allocates $112,500 for the settlement administrator to divide among aggrieved employees based on the number of pay periods they worked during the PAGA period.
All payments are subject to applicable tax withholdings. The settlement administrator will report the wage portion (25%) on a W-2 and the nonwage and PAGA portions (75%) on a 1099.
No claim form required
Class members do not need to submit a claim form to receive their payment. The settlement administrator will automatically mail checks to the address on file for all eligible class members. Those who have moved or plan to move should promptly notify the administrator to ensure they receive payment.

Class members who wish to opt out of the settlement must submit a written and signed request for exclusion by Aug. 24, 2026. The request should include their name, address, telephone number and a statement that they wish to be excluded from the settlement. Those who opt out will not receive a class payment but may still receive a PAGA payment if eligible.
Class members who believe the number of workweeks or pay periods credited to them is incorrect can submit a written challenge by Aug. 24, 2026 along with supporting documentation, such as pay stubs.
How class members will be paid
The settlement administrator will mail checks to the address on file. Checks will include both the class payment and the PAGA payment (if eligible).
If a class member loses their check before cashing it, they can request a replacement before the void date. If a class member's check expires, the administrator will send the funds to the California controller’s unclaimed property fund in their name.
$2.4 million Live Nation settlement fund breakdown
The $2,400,000 settlement fund will include:
- Settlement administration costs: Up to $75,000
- Attorneys' fees: Up to $800,000
- Attorneys' expenses: Up to $25,000
- Service award to class representative: Up to $10,000
- PAGA penalties: $450,000 ($337,500 to the state and $112,500 to PAGA class members)
- Payments to class members: Remaining settlement funds
If the court awards less than the maximum for any category, the settlement administrator will distribute the remainder to class members. The fund is non-reversionary, meaning Live Nation Worldwide Inc. will not receive any money back.

Why did this class action settlement happen?
The class action lawsuit alleged Live Nation Worldwide and HOB Entertainment violated California labor laws. The claims included failure to pay minimum and overtime wages, missed meal and rest breaks, failure to provide accurate wage statements, late payment of wages, unreimbursed business expenses and other violations.
The defendants denied all allegations and did not admit wrongdoing. Both sides agreed to settle to avoid the expense and uncertainty of continued litigation.
