Job seekers who applied for a position with Blue Origin or its related entities in Washington state between Jan. 1, 2023, and March 9, 2026, may be eligible to claim a cash payment from a class action settlement.
Blue Origin Washington LLC and its affiliated companies agreed to pay $1.96 million to settle a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges Blue Origin failed to include required wage and benefits information in job postings for positions in Washington in violation of state law.
Who are the class members?
Individuals must meet all of the following criteria:
- They applied for and maintained an application for a job opening in the state of Washington with Blue Origin Washington LLC (formerly Blue Origin LLC), Blue Origin International LLC, Blue Origin Holdings LP, Blue Origin Holdings GP LLC or Blue Origin Enterprises LP.
- They submitted the application through Blue Origin’s websites or an authorized third-party recruiting platform.
- They applied for a job posted between Jan. 1, 2023, and March 9, 2026.
- The job posting did not disclose the wage scale or salary range and/or a general description of the benefits and other compensation to be offered to the hired applicant.
- They did not sign an arbitration agreement with any of the defendants.
The defendants’ records indicate there are approximately 1,511 class members.
How much can class members get?
Pro rata payment: Each class member who does not exclude themselves from the settlement will receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. The total settlement fund is $1,964,300, but the settlement administrator will reduce this amount by attorneys’ fees, costs, service awards and settlement administration expenses before distributing it to class members.
If the number of class members increases by more than 5%, the defendants will increase the settlement fund proportionally. If more than 10% of class members opt out, Blue Origin may void the settlement.
No action needed to receive payment
Class members do not need to file a claim to receive compensation. The settlement administrator will automatically mail payments to eligible class members after the court resolves any appeals and grants final approval of the settlement.
Those who have moved since they submitted their application should update their mailing address by contacting the settlement administrator.

Why is there a class action settlement?
The class action lawsuit alleged Blue Origin violated Washington's Equal Pay and Opportunities Act by failing to include required wage and benefits information in job postings for positions in Washington state.
Blue Origin denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle to avoid the uncertainty, risks and costs of further litigation.
