Employees who worked for Elite Medical Transportation LLC and received pay deductions for traffic citations between Aug. 16, 2013, and Aug. 16, 2023, may be eligible to claim an average payment of approximately $235 from a class action settlement.

Elite Medical Transportation LLC agreed to pay $256,649.35 to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it made unauthorized wage deductions from employees’ paychecks in response to traffic citations.

Who are the class members?

Class members must meet the following criteria:

  • They worked for Elite Medical Transportation LLC at any time between Aug. 16, 2013, and Aug. 16, 2023.
  • The company deducted costs for traffic citations from their pay during this period.

If an individual received a notice about this settlement, it means Elite Medical Transportation identified them as someone who received the deductions and is eligible to participate.

Both current and former employees can participate.

How much is the Elite Medical Transportation payout?

Each eligible class member can receive a payment based on the amountElite Medical Transportation deducted from their pay multiplied by a penalty rate and the number of months since the deduction occurred. The calculation for each payment is: Deduction amount x 3.49% x number of months from the deduction date to Feb. 28, 2025.

The average payment is estimated to be about $235, but each claimant's individual payment may be higher or lower depending on their specific deductions and how long ago they occurred.

How to claim a class action payment

Class members can file a claim online or complete the claim form they received in the mail and send it to the settlement administrator.

Required claim information

To file an online claim, class members must provide the notice ID and PIN from the settlement notice they received. Those who are unable to locate their ID and/or PIN contact the settlement administrator at 888-369-3780 and provide the class member’s full name and mailing address.

Payout options

The settlement administrator mail checks to the address provided on the claim form. Checks will have an expiration date printed on them. If class members do not cash their check before it expires, the funds will revert to the defendant.
