What Happened?
On May 2, 2025, Onset Financial experienced a network security incident in which an unauthorized party gained access to certain systems within its network.
Despite existing security measures, certain files were accessed and may have been acquired without authorization. The company discovered the incident, secured its systems and conducted an investigation with cybersecurity experts.
The investigation concluded on Nov. 24, 2025, and Onset Financial began notifying affected individuals in December 2025.

The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Attorney General on Dec. 16, 2025, and to the Montana Attorney General on Dec. 12, 2025. The number of affected individuals reported includes six in Massachusetts and eleven in Montana.
