What Happened?
Nobu Restaurant Group Holding Company reported a data breach that was disclosed to the Texas Attorney General on April 17, 2026.
The incident was caused by a ransomware attack carried out by the group known as Akira, who claimed responsibility for the breach on the dark web on Nov. 5, 2025. The attackers stated they obtained 71 GB of sensitive data, including employee and owner information such as passports, driver licenses, Social Security numbers, detailed financials, confidential files and more.
The breach affected at least 280 individuals in Texas. Impacted indivduals were notified of the breach via U.S. Mail.
