What Happened?
In October 2025, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s service provider, Unlimited Technology Systems, experienced unauthorized activity within its commercial datacenter.
The incident resulted in an unauthorized party accessing certain personal information and protected health information of some patients and related individuals between Oct. 5 and 10, 2025.
Information Exposed:
- Names
- Health insurance and patient balance information (such as insurance policy numbers or claims/benefits information)
- Medical information (such as medical record numbers, dates of service, and diagnosis information)
- Scanned documents (such as driver’s licenses or other government identification, insurance cards, and intake forms)
- Social Security numbers
- Other personal information (such as dates of birth, emails, addresses, phone numbers, or demographic information)
The breach did not include full patient medical records, medical imaging, or financial information like credit card or bank account numbers.
On July 20, 2026, Unlimited began notifying affected individuals whose mailing addresses were available. For others, the center posted a public notice to inform those who may have been impacted.
