The company first became aware of the incident on April 4, 2026, though the unauthorized access occurred prior to March 27, 2026. This cyberattack disrupted phone and computer systems across multiple dealerships, causing operational issues.
A third-party forensic cybersecurity firm was engaged to investigate the breach. The investigation is ongoing, but it has been confirmed that the following types of consumer information may have been exposed:

- Driver's license numbers or other government-issued identification numbers
- Financial account information
- Passport numbers and/or passport images
