What Happened?

On Nov. 11, 2025, D.B. Root & Company learned that an unauthorized individual may have gained access to its network. The company quickly secured its systems and began working with external cybersecurity professionals to investigate. After a thorough forensic review, the company determined on April 9, 2026, that between Nov. 11 and Nov. 12, 2025, personal information may have been acquired without authorization.

The breach affected 2,806 people in the United States, including residents of Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont and other states. Written notices to affected individuals were sent beginning May 27, 2026.
