One June 3, 2025, Southern Tire Mart LLC, the largest commercial tire dealer and retread manufacturer in North America, discovered a data breach affecting thousands of individuals. An investigation revealed that between June 2 and June 3, 2025, unauthorized access occurred within Southern Tire Mart's internal network.
A review determined that files containing sensitive personal and financial information may have been accessed during the data breach. Exposed information may include names, addresses, Social Security numbers and direct deposit or bank account information.
Southern Tire Mart disclosed the cybersecurity incident to the California and Texas Attorney Generals' offices beginning on July 25, 2025. The data breach impacted at least 6,267 individuals in Texas alone.
