Sentry Advisors, LLC, a regulatory risk consulting firm serving financial institutions, has reported a data breach affecting individuals in multiple states across the U.S. According to the disclosures filed with the Attorney Generals' offices in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, the breach exposed sensitive personal information, including names and social security numbers.
On June 16, 2025, Sentry Advisors became aware of a security breach involving unauthorized access to an employee's email account, occurring between June 12, 2025, and June 16, 2025. The company's review determined that cybercriminals obtained personally identifiable information (PII) of at least three residents in Maines, two in Massachusetts and two in New Hampshire. However, the investigation is ongoing and the number of impacted individuals is subject to change.
The severity of this breach is notable due to the exposure of names, addresses, phone numbers and social security numbers, which are highly sensitive pieces of PII. The exposure of this level of sensitive information puts individuals at risk of identity theft and financial fraud.
In response to the breach, Sentry Advisors, LLC is offering affected individuals complimentary access to Single Bureau Credit Monitoring, a Single Bureau Credit Report, and a Single Bureau Credit Score for 24 months through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company specializing in fraud assistance and remediation services.
