
Prescribe FIT Inc., a Columbus, Ohio-based healthcare company that provides remote patient monitoring and virtual health coaching for orthopedic practices, disclosed a data breach.
The breach was reported to the South Carolina Attorney General on Sept. 10, 2026, with 1,303 South Carolina residents identified as affected. The company began notifying affected individuals by first-class mail on Sept. 10, 2026.
On or around April 13, 2026, Prescribe FIT discovered an unauthorized third party compromised one of its email accounts. After discovering the unauthorized access, the company then worked to determine what happened and the information that may have been compromised.
The type of personal information that may have been exposed included names and other undisclosed personal information.
Prescribe FIT is offering free credit monitoring services through Experian. Individuals who received a notification letter can enroll by visiting Experian's IdentityWorks website and entering the unique activation code provided in their letter. The enrollment deadline is Dec. 31, 2026.
In addition to credit monitoring, the company is providing proactive fraud assistance to all affected individuals. This service is designed to help answer any questions about the incident or to provide support if someone becomes a victim of fraud.
