Nipro Medical Corp. Data Breach Exposes Social Security Numbers

Nipro Medical Corp. (NIPRO), a medical device company that serves as the Americas subsidiary of Japan-based Nipro Corp., has disclosed a data breach that exposed sensitive personal and financial information.

Nipro handles sales, marketing and business operations across North and South America, specializing in renal care products, vascular and interventional devices and disposable hospital supplies used in both hospital and home-care settings.

The company filed disclosures with the attorneys general offices of Massachusetts and Vermont on Aug. 12, 2026. Consumer notification letters were additionally mailed on Aug. 12, 2026.

Nipro detected suspicious activity on its computer network. After becoming aware of the activity, the company launched an investigation to determine the full scope of the incident and identify what personal information may have been affected.

The investigation determined that certain personal information belonging to individuals may have been accessed or otherwise involved in the incident. The types of information potentially exposed included credit and debit card numbers, government identification numbers and Social Security numbers.

Nipro's response to the breach

Nipro is offering affected individuals 24 months of credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through Cryberscout at no cost.

To sign up for the free monitoring, affected individuals can visit the Cyberscout enrollment page and enter the unique activation code included in their notification letter. Enrollment must be completed within 90 days of the date of the letter.

Affected individuals who have questions about the breach or the notification can call Nipro's toll-free assistance line at 1-800-405-6108.
