KH Credit Union, a not-for-profit credit union based in the Dayton, Ohio area that serves Kettering Health employees and their families, disclosed a data breach involving member information that was stored on Kettering Health's network. The total number of people affected in the United States was not disclosed.

The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on June 16, 2026. The credit union also posted a notice on its website regarding the incident.

On or about May 20, 2025, Kettering Health became aware of suspicious activity affecting certain systems within its network. Kettering Health took steps to secure its environment and launched a comprehensive investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity specialists.

The investigation determined that there was unauthorized access to Kettering Health's environment between April 9, 2025, and May 20, 2025. During that time, certain files and folders within the network were potentially viewed or acquired without authorization.

The incident did not involve KH Credit Union's own network and was limited solely to Kettering Health's systems.

The types of personally identifiable information and protected health information exposed included full names, Social Security numbers, bank and/or financial account numbers, driver's license and/or state identification numbers, medical billing and/or claims information and patient account numbers.

KH Credit Union's response to the breach

Kettering Health is offering affected individuals 12 months of single bureau credit monitoring, a single bureau credit report and a single bureau credit score at no charge.

Affected individuals can enroll in the free monitoring services by visiting the Cyberscout enrollment page and entering the unique code included in their notification letter. The enrollment deadline is Sept. 12, 2026.

For additional questions, affected individuals can contact a dedicated toll-free assistance line at 1-844-784-5351, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, excluding U.S. holidays. They may also write to Kettering at 1 Prestige Place, Suite 580, Miamisburg, OH 45342.
