Fleur de Lis Federal Credit Union (FDLFCU), a member-owned, federally chartered and federally insured credit union headquartered in Metairie, Louisiana, disclosed a data breach that was discovered on May 4, 2026.
The breach was reported to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on Aug. 11, 2026. The credit union also posted a notice on its website with information about the incident and resources for those who may be impacted.
Upon discovery of suspicious activity on a single business email account, the credit union launched an investigation. Fleur de Lis Federal Credit Union engaged data security and privacy professionals to help determine what had occurred and assess the full scope of the incident.
The team conducted a review of the data contained in or potentially accessible through the compromised email account. The goal was to identify what information may have been affected and confirm the identities of individuals who needed to be notified.
After completing the review, the investigation confirmed that certain personal information may have been exposed to an unauthorized party.
The types of personally identifiable information potentially exposed included names, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers or state identification numbers, financial account numbers, dates of birth, login information and medical information.
The credit union is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services through Experian IdentityWorks. Each notification letter includes a unique activation code, an enrollment deadline and an engagement number that recipients will need when contacting Experian.
Affected individuals who need help enrolling online or who require identity restoration services can contact Experian's customer care team at 877-288-8057. Individuals with additional questions about the incident can call the dedicated response line at 844-958-8955, available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Central Time, excluding major U.S. holidays.
