
Easterly Government Properties Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based real estate investment trust that leases commercial properties primarily to U.S. government agencies, disclosed a data breach that resulted from a security incident at its professional tax services vendor, EY.
According to the company's notification to affected individuals, a security incident took place at EY, the professional tax services vendor used by Easterly Government Properties.
The notification does not provide specific dates for when the breach took place or when it was discovered.
The types of personal information exposed included names, physical mailing addresses, Social Security numbers, taxable income and footnote data.
The breach was disclosed to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on June 15, 2026. The total number of individuals affected across the United States has not been publicly disclosed.
Easterly is offering two years of complimentary credit monitoring and identity restoration services through Epiq – Privacy Solutions ID.
To enroll, affected individuals can visit Epiq – Privacy Solutions ID, click "Activate Account" and enter the unique activation code included in their notification letter. The enrollment deadline is Aug. 31, 2026.
