







One of the largest federal credit unions in Central Massachusetts, Central One Federal Credit Union, has experienced a data breach. The cybersecurity incident compromised both personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI).
Exposed data included names, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state ID numbers, financial account information and medical and health insurance information. The total number of impacted individuals has not been publicly disclosed, but may include both credit union account holders and employees.
The data breach was disclosed to the Texas Attorney General's office on Nov. 12, 2025, reporting at least 274 Texas residents impacted. While the specific method of the breach and the responsible party have not yet been detailed, the sensitive data involved puts individuals at risk of identity theft and financial fraud
In response to the incident, Central One Federal Credit Union is notifying affected individuals by mail.
