
Boyd Bros. Transportation LLC, a privately held flatbed trucking company based in Birmingham, Alabama, disclosed a data breach involving unauthorized access to computer systems it shares with WTI Transport LLC.
On or about May 8, 2026, an unauthorized third party gained access to the computer systems of Boyd Bros. Transportation LLC and WTI Transport LLC. The company discovered the potential unauthorized access four days later, on May 12, 2026.
On May 17, 2026, a ransomware group known as Chaos claimed responsibility for the attack in a posting on the Tor network, stating it had obtained data from WTI Transport and intended to publish the stolen information within three days.
The company determined on or about May 22, 2026, that the unauthorized third party may have accessed personal information belonging to affected individuals.
The personal information confirmed as exposed included names and Social Security numbers, personal addresses, email addresses, dates of birth, contact information and driver's license information.
The company started mailing notification letters to affected individuals on June 22, 2026. The total number of individuals affected has not been publicly disclosed.
Boyd Bros. Transportation is offering affected individuals 12 months of complimentary access to Equifax Credit Watch Gold Identity Monitoring Services.
To enroll, affected individuals can visit the Equifax activation page and enter the unique activation code included in their notification letter. Enrollment is open until June 30, 2027.
Boyd Bros. Transportation has set up a dedicated phone line at 1-888-289-6621 for questions and concerns. The line is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time, excluding major U.S. holidays.
The company also encouraged affected individuals to remain vigilant by reviewing and reporting any unusual or suspicious activity to financial institutions or law enforcement.
