MoneyBlock, an online trading platform, experienced a major data breach. The company discovered suspicious activity on its internal network on July 31, 2025. An investigation was launched and it was determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to the MoneyBlock computer network on July 31, 2025.

A review was initiated and on Aug. 7, 2025, MoneyBlock learned that the cybercriminal may have acquired files containing sensitive personal and financial information. The data exposed in this breach includes names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers and financial account information.

MoneyBlock disclosed the cybersecurity incident to the California Attorney General and the Massachusetts Attorney General on Sept. 12, 2025. The total number of impacted individuals has not been released, but is believed to be in the thousands. The company will notify all impacted individuals by mail.

MoneyBlock's response

AOS Inc., doing business as MoneyBlock, responded by securing its network and notifying law enforcement. In addition to required state and federal disclosures, the company is offering impacted individuals 12 months of free Experian IdentityWorks credit monitoring services.

If you receive a notice from MoneyBlock about this breach, you may want to:

  • Sign up for the free Experian IdentityWorks credit monitoring services, offered by the company.
  • Monitor your credit reports and financial accounts for any unusual activity.
  • Be alert for phishing emails or phone calls that may use your exposed information.
  • Consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze with major credit bureaus.

More information about the company can be found on the MoneyBlock website.

Protect Your Data

A breach notice means your personal details could be circulating far beyond the organization involved. One practical step is continuous monitoring: services such as Identity Defender (included with an ExpressVPN subscription) can automatically check dark-web markets, flag new credit-file activity, and request removal of your information from data-broker sites.

This kind of “early-warning system” can’t undo a breach, but it can help you spot misuse quickly and limit further exposure. ExpressVPN is offering 61% off, risk-free for 30 days, with ID Theft Insurance included and no extra cost for those who sign up for one or two years.
