







The online trading platform, MoneyBlock, experienced a major data breach. The company discovered suspicious activity on its internal network on July 31, 2025. An investigation was launched and it was determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to the MoneyBlock computer network on July 31, 2025.
A review was initiated and on Aug. 7, 2025, MoneyBlock learned that the cybercriminal may have acquired files containing sensitive personal and financial information. The data exposed in this breach includes names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers and financial account information.
According to the Sept. 12, 2025 disclosure to the Maine Attorney General, 13,789 have been affected by the breach including 54 in the state.
MoneyBlock also disclosed the cybersecurity incident to the California Attorney General, the Montana Attorney General, the Massachusetts Attorney General and New Hampshire Attorney General on Sept. 12, 2025. The data breach was disclosed to the Texas Attorney General's office on Sept. 15, 2025, reporting 1,069 Texas residents impacted.
MoneyBlock, responded by securing its network and notifying law enforcement. In addition to required state and federal disclosures, the company is offering impacted individuals 12 months of free Experian IdentityWorks credit monitoring services. The company will notify all impacted individuals by mail.
