Employment seekers who applied for a job with Red Robin International Inc. in Washington state between Jan. 1, 2023, and June 12, 2026, in which the job posting did not include a wage scale or salary range may be eligible to claim up to $5,000 from a class action settlement.
Red Robin International agreed to pay $1.1 million to $1.67 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging its job postings in Washington state failed to include required pay information as mandated by state law.
Who can file a claim?
Individuals are considered class members if they meet all of the following criteria:
- They applied to and maintained an application for a job opening in the state of Washington with Red Robin International between Jan. 1, 2023, and June 12, 2026.
- They submitted their application through a job posting on Red Robin’s website or an authorized third-party recruiting platform.
- The job posting did not disclose a wage scale or salary range and/or a general description of the benefits and other compensation to be offered.
Based on Red Robin's records, there are approximately 1,970 potential class members.
How much can class members get?
Each eligible class member who submits a valid claim form will receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. The estimated payment is $573.43, but the actual amount may be as high as $5,000, depending on the number of valid claims submitted.
The settlement fund is structured as follows:
- If 50% or fewer of the class members (985 or fewer) submit valid claims, the settlement administrator will distribute the minimum fund of $1,109,675 equally among those claimants.
- For every additional claimant above 985, Red Robin will increase the net settlement fund by $573.43 per claimant up to the maximum settlement fund amount of $1,674,500.
- No individual claimant can receive more than $5,000; if the calculated amount exceeds this, the settlement administrator will donate the excess to the Legal Foundation of Washington.
How to claim a settlement payment
Eligible class members can file a claim online using the unique ID and PIN provided in their notice or download, print and complete the PDF claim form (pages 56-59 of the settlement agreement) and mail or email it to the settlement administrator.

All class members must provide the claim ID and PIN from the personalized settlement notice they received in the mail.
Payout options
The settlement administrator will mail checks to the address eligible class members provide on their claim form. Class members must cash their checks within 120 days of issuance.
Settlement fund breakdown
The settlement fund of $1,109,675 to $1,674,500 will cover:
- Settlement administration costs: Up to $17,500
- Attorneys' fees: $502,350
- Attorneys' expenses: Up to $15,000
- Service award to class representative: $10,000
- Payments to approved class members: The remainder of the fund

When is the Red Robin pay transparency settlement payout date?
The settlement administrator will distribute payments after the court resolves any appeals and grants final approval of the settlement.
Why did this class action settlement happen?
The class action lawsuit claimed Red Robin International failed to include required wage, salary and benefits information in job postings for positions in Washington state as required by state law. The plaintiff claimed this omission breached the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities Act (RCW 49.58.110).
Red Robin denied any wrongdoing or liability but agreed to settle to avoid the risks and costs of further litigation.
