Physicians to Women Inc. and Mid-Atlantic Women’s Care PLC agreed to pay $918,510 to resolve a class action lawsuit. The lawsuit alleges a cybersecurity incident exposed patients' sensitive personal and medical information, including names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and medical or health information.
Who is eligible for a data breach payout?
Class members must meet the following criteria:
- They reside in the United States.
- Physicians to Women Inc. or Mid-Atlantic Women’s Care PLC identified them as victims of the April 2023 data breach.
How much can class members receive from the settlement?
- Reimbursement for out-of-pocket losses: Up to $10,000 for documented losses traceable to the data breach. These losses can include:
- Unreimbursed bank fees
- Postage
- Gas for local travel
- Fees for credit monitoring or identity theft insurance purchased as a result of the breach
- Pro rata cash payment: All settlement class members who submit a valid claim can receive an equal part of the net settlement fund after deductions for administration costs, attorneys’ fees and expenses, service awards, and reimbursement claims. The exact amount will depend on the number of valid claims submitted and the total amount of out-of-pocket losses reimbursed.
- Credit monitoring and medical identity protection: Two years of one-bureau credit monitoring and medical identity protection services (CyEx Medical Shield Complete), including $1,000,000 in medical identity theft insurance
How to claim a class action rebate payment
Class members can file a claim online or download the PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is Sept. 9, 2025.

Proof and documentation required

When is the Physicians to Women and Mid-Atlantic Women’s Care settlement payout date?

Why did this class action settlement happen?
The class action lawsuit alleged a cybersecurity incident in April 2023 allegedly exposed sensitive personal and medical information of patients of Physicians to Women Inc. and Mid-Atlantic Women’s Care PLC. The plaintiffs claimed the defendants failed to adequately protect this information.
