Individuals who scheduled a health screening or purchased a test kit through Life Line using its website or web platform at any time from June 1, 2018, to the present, may be eligible to claim $20 or $50 from a class action settlement.

Life Line Screening of America Ltd. agreed to pay $1.4 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it disclosed users’ confidential personally identifiable information and protected health information to third parties, including Meta Platforms Inc. and Google Inc., through tracking technologies on its website.

Who can file a claim?

The settlement class is divided into two subclasses:

  • Nationwide settlement class:
    • All individuals in the United States who scheduled health screenings or purchased test kits through Life Line using a website or web platform from June 1, 2018, to the present
  • California settlement class:
    • All individuals residing in California who scheduled health screenings or purchased test kits through Life Line using a website or web platform from June 1, 2018, to the present

How much can class members get?

The total settlement fund available for payments and notice/administration costs is $1,400,000. This amount does not include attorneys’ fees and expenses or service awards, which the defendant will pay separately.

Eligible class members can receive a cash payment depending on their subclass:

  • Nationwide settlement class members are eligible for a $20 payment.
  • California settlement class members are eligible for a $50 payment (in recognition of the release of California statutory claims) in lieu of the nationwide settlement class payment.

If the total amount claimed by all class members plus administration costs exceeds $1,400,000, the settlement administrator will reduce payments proportionally.
