The company uses a telehealth platform and proprietary tools to provide care.
What Happened?
On Dec. 6, 2025, Woundtech discovered unusual activity in its network environment. A third-party cybersecurity firm was engaged to investigate.
By Dec. 31, 2025, it was determined that certain information may have been copied by an unauthorized individual between Dec. 6, 2025, and Dec. 9, 2025. Woundtech completed its review of the affected data on March 2, 2026.
On Feb. 1, 2026, a threat actor named FulcrumSec claimed responsibility for the breach on the open web, alleging that 3.8 TB of data related to over 160,000 patients was stolen. The threat actor claimed the files included millions of clinical notes, EMR files, referral documents and clinical wound images.
Information Exposed:
- First names
- Last names
- Dates of birth
- Telephone numbers
- Genders
- Clinical notes
- Medical health information
- Medical treatment information
- Medical diagnosis information
- Health insurance information
- Medical treatment images
- Social Security numbers
The breach was disclosed to the Texas Attorney General on March 17, 2026.
So far, 3,809 Texas residents were affected.
