About Windward Life Care
Buena Vista Management Services, LLC, doing business as Windward Life Care, is an individual and family services provider based in San Diego.
Founded in 2004, the company focuses on aging life care management, in-home caregiving, and private home health nursing for older adults and people with disabilities throughout San Diego County.
What Happened?
On Dec. 8, 2025, Windward Life Care discovered unusual activity in its network environment. After engaging legal counsel and third-party forensic specialists, the company determined that certain information may have been viewed or copied by an unauthorized individual.
The incident was later linked to a ransomware attack by the Sinobi group, who claimed to have obtained 25 GB of data, including customer data, incident records, and contracts, and threatened to publish the data on the dark web.
Windward Life Care completed its review of impacted information on April 6, 2026. The breach was first disclosed to the New Hampshire Attorney General on April 10, 2026.
While only two New Hampshire residents were confirmed affected, the breach may have impacted others in different states.
