What Happened?
On Oct. 2, 2025, Western Orthopaedics became aware of a potential security incident.
An investigation revealed that between approximately Sept. 17, 2025, and Sept. 25, 2025, an unauthorized third party accessed and/or acquired certain data from the company’s network. The incident was linked to the PEAR ransomware group, which claimed responsibility and posted about the breach on the dark web on Oct. 4, 2025.
After a thorough review, it was determined on March 3, 2026, that sensitive consumer information was involved in the breach.
Notices were sent to affected individuals by U.S. Mail.

- Full names and addresses
- Phone numbers
- Social Security numbers
- Dates of birth
- Financial account, credit, or debit card numbers (with or without security codes, access codes, or passwords)
- Health insurance information
- Health insurance plan or subscriber identification numbers
- Medical provider names
- Medical dates of service
- Medical cost or billing information
