About Washington Prime Group Holdings

Washington Prime Group Holdings L.P. is the operating limited partnership subsidiary of Washington Prime Group Inc., a real estate investment trust (REIT) focused on owning, managing, acquiring and developing retail properties across the United States.

Washington Prime Group manages a large portfolio, including 73 properties in 27 states, totaling over 39 million square feet. The company was originally spun off from Simon Property Group Inc. in May 2014 and has since specialized in both enclosed malls and open-air shopping centers.

What happened?

In September 2025, Washington Prime Group experienced a data breach. On Sept. 23, 2025, a group known as Worldleaks claimed responsibility for leaking data from the company, with details posted on the Tor network.

So far, the breach has impacted at least 488 individuals in Texas, 44 in Montana, six in Massachusetts and two in New Hampshire. However, this is an ongoing investigation, and the number of impacted individuals is subject to change.

Information Exposed

  • Financial account information (including credt or debit card numbers)
  • Social Security numbers
  • Names

Beginning on Dec. 23, 2025, the company disclosed the data breach to the attorneys general offices in Vermont, Massachusetts, Texas, and New Hampshire, and Montana. Impacted individuals have been notified by mail.
