University of St. Thomas experienced a data breach involving a ransomware attack.
On Aug. 21, 2025, the hacking group INC RANSOM claimed responsibility for the incident, stating they had obtained 1.8 TB of the university’s data.
The breach was officially disclosed to the Texas Attorney General on March 9, 2026. The types of information that were exposed in this incident include highly sensitive personal and financial details.
