Your Rights and Next Steps

If your personal information was exposed in the Unity National Bank data breach, you have important rights and options available to you.

You can request a free credit report from each of the three major credit bureaus—Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion—once per year.

Consider placing a fraud alert or credit freeze on your credit file. A fraud alert notifies creditors to verify your identity before opening new accounts in your name. A credit freeze restricts access to your credit report, making it difficult for identity thieves to open new accounts using your information.

If you suspect your information has been misused, consider filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

Finally, you also have the right to join a class action lawsuit.
