What Happened?

On May 23, 2024, JATC discovered suspicious activity on its computer systems. With the help of third-party forensic specialists, the organization launched an investigation and determined that an unauthorized actor had accessed and copied files from their network between May 17, 2024, and May 23, 2024.

A thorough review of the affected files concluded on Jan. 28, 2026. It was determined that sensitive information belonging to 20,623 individuals in the United States, including 45 Maine residents, was potentially exposed.

Written notices were sent to affected individuals on Feb. 6, 2026. The breach was also disclosed to the attorneys general offices of California, Maine, Oregon, and Vermont.
